We are not a branch office of some impersonal large chain operator nor are we one of the numerous Johnny-come-lately franchise operations that seem to be popping up all over the place, like weeds in a lawn. We are senior care experts. We provide high quality, dependable non-medical in-home care that allows individuals to continue to live life to the fullest at wherever they call home. Working at Horizons
Every member of our team is employed by and compensated by Horizons Private Duty Care, Inc. We do not employ independent contractors in any capacity. We utilize a professional payroll company to process our payroll and to file and pay all applicable payroll taxes on time and in the required amounts. This process ensures that our clients have no liability for filing and payroll taxes as they generally will have if they employ an independent contractor to provide any private duty services.
Horizons utilizes a vigorous employment process to help us identify experienced, skilled and compassionate caregivers and other staff. Unlike many of our competitors, we don’t just hire warm bodies. Every Horizons employee is carefully screened and assessed and undergoes a comprehensive background investigation. We also perform pre-employment drug testing and all employees are subject to unannounced drug testing at any time. We also do not employ individuals that smoke or use tobacco products.
Every Horizons employee is covered by the company’s comprehensive general and professional liability and workers’ compensation insurance policies (coverage verification document is available upon request). This coverage protects our clients from any worries or concerns about liability issues of any kind.
